Sedums

Sedums are Hardy perennial plants, Drought tolerant, Deer Resistant, Fast growing. Sun lovers/full sun. Grows on sandy or stony soil. Hardy. Drought resistant. Creeping kinds are evergreen, but change colors during the year. Plant several kinds abutting, and you will get a lovely patchwork quilt effect of colored foliage. Mostly grown for their succulent foliage.

They are interesting plants for slopes, green roofs, living walls, rock gardens, rockeries, between step stones and pavers, xeriscaping, in rock walls, in wall niches, cracks and crevices, containers, and edging. They are different colors at different times of the year. They attract 'good guys', insects like hover-flies, whose larvae are important aphid predators in the garden.

Grow in full sun and average-to-dry soil with good drainage. Water well on planting and regularly until established.
